Jasmine Essential Oil
Jasminum grandiflorum — Solvent Extracted — India
Eight thousand blossoms to produce a single gram. Hand harvested in the hours before dawn, when the volatile aromatic compounds are at their most concentrated and the flowers have not yet been touched by the heat of the day. No mechanical process can replicate the delicacy required — jasmine absolute is made by human hands, flower by flower, in one of the most labour-intensive aromatic harvests in the world.
That extraordinary effort is reflected in what ends up in the bottle. Jasmine is not merely a beautiful floral oil — it is one of the most complex, deeply sensual, and emotionally resonant aromatics in existence. Known as the King of Flowers across South and Southeast Asian traditions — a counterpoint to rose's Queen — it has been used in sacred ceremony, bridal ritual, religious offering, and fine perfumery across India, China, Egypt, and the Arab world for thousands of years. In Ayurvedic tradition it is associated with love, confidence, and the opening of the heart. In modern natural perfumery it remains one of the most irreplaceable and sought-after materials available.
Our jasmine is pre-diluted in clear jojoba oil — making it immediately and safely ready for skin application as a natural perfume or personal care ingredient, while preserving the full aromatic complexity of the absolute.
Recommended uses:
Natural perfume: Apply directly to pulse points — inner wrists, neck, behind the ears, inner elbows — as a luxurious, entirely natural personal fragrance. The warmth of the skin slowly releases the jasmine's extraordinary aromatic complexity throughout the day. Layering over an unscented moisturiser extends the wear beautifully.
Meditation and yoga: Apply to the wrists or diffuse — noting that absolutes are generally not recommended for diffusers due to their thickness, but a drop on a personal aromatic inhaler or on the collar works beautifully — to create an atmosphere of deep inner warmth, emotional openness, and sensory richness that supports sustained practice.
Bath: Add 5-8 drops to a warm bath for an indulgent, deeply floral soak that is as emotionally nourishing as it is aromatically extraordinary. One of the most luxurious bath oil additions in the entire collection.
Massage: Blend 3-5 drops in an additional carrier oil for a deeply sensual, calming massage that addresses emotional tension as much as physical. Particularly well suited to evening massage rituals focused on intimacy, connection, and the release of accumulated emotional holding.
DIY beauty and perfumery: An essential ingredient for anyone creating natural perfumes, luxury skincare formulations, or high-end candles. Jasmine adds an extraordinary floral heart note that lifts and transforms any blend it enters — a single drop changes everything.
Scent profile: Intensely and unmistakably floral — rich, warm, and deeply complex with a honeyed sweetness, a subtle fruity depth, and an almost indolic quality that gives jasmine its particular warmth and sensuality. A heart to base note with extraordinary tenacity and presence. No synthetic jasmine fragrance comes close — the real thing is in an entirely different category.
Blending: Jasmine is one of the great floral heart notes of natural perfumery — it elevates and transforms everything it touches. Pairs beautifully with sandalwood, ylang ylang, rose, bergamot, frankincense, cedarwood, and patchouli. Use it to add an opulent floral heart to woody or resinous blends, or to deepen and warm citrus combinations that need emotional weight and sensory richness.
Safety: For external use only. Already diluted in jojoba oil — apply directly to skin or blend with additional carrier oil for a lighter application. Perform a patch test before first use as jasmine absolute can cause sensitivity in some individuals. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Keep out of reach of children. Consult a qualified healthcare practitioner before use during pregnancy. Note that jasmine absolute is a highly concentrated aromatic material — use sparingly, as a little goes an extraordinary long way.
